Adapting to a Post Nail Salon World

There are many things our fellow citizens are having to do without during this crisis:  wages, health, social contact to name a few.  But none is more impactful than the closure of nail salons.

How can suburban women be expected to clean, shape and color their own hands?  Our hands are busy with important things like eating cookies, drinking wine, and clicking the remote.

As our cuticles continue their relentless march across our nailbeds, we glance in horror at what we’ve become.  There is no way to escape our ungroomed hands:  they follow us everywhere.

Adapt or die.  Nowhere is this more true than on our fingertips.  A thorough analysis of the situation has yielded a few innovative solutions:

  1. Given the inability of most to cleanly paint their nails, try painting ovals of parchment paper and hot gluing them to your nails (definitely have wine at hand when applying). This has the added benefit of fulfilling an art requirement for your children’s e-learning.
  2. As we all begin to lose track of days, why not let your nails take over? Mark your nails each day at sundown for an easy to access calendar.  Who needs grooming!
  3. Why not reuse those gloves you’re wearing at the grocery store? Cut the fingertips off and color those for an eco-friendly, reusable solution. You might start a trend!
